About Us

  • The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education is a deemed-to-be-University established under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956.
  • It seeks to be recognized nationally and internationally as a fine example of an institution producing young talent with immense potential for (a) demonstrating transformative impacts on Indian society to bring about changes that will align with the ideals of the constitution of India, and (b) influencing global conventions focused on realizing sustainability, through persistent and dedicated efforts in education, training, research, and extending intellectual services.
  • The School offers distinctive, high value education programs at the under-graduate and post-graduate levels, and promote high quality research at the masters and doctoral degree levels.
  • Currently, the Department of Economics offers a 3-years BA undergraduate, a 2-year MA postgraduate degree programs in Economics, and a doctoral research program leading to a PhD in Economics.
  • Towards internationalizing higher education, a 4-years BA Economics program leading to an undergraduate degree with Honors or Honors with Research is offered from the 2023-24 academic year.
  • Going forward, the School proposes to offer double-degree programs leading to BA Economics with Psychology (Behavioural Economics), or Law, or Data Analytics, or Management. Similarly, it plans to come up with innovative programs in other fields of Social Sciences such as Psychology, Political Science, Public Policy/Administration, Sociology, Social Work, Sustainability Studies, etc.
  • Faculty members have conducted quality research funded by national and international agencies.
  • They publish the research output in reputed national and international journals and in books. With due emphasis on world-class research, the School plan to collaborate with range of national and international institutes and organizations while evolving as a center of eminence in the field of social science education and research.
  • It aims to create an institutional ecosystem by collaborating with various local, regional, national and international institutions of eminence for working together intellectually for the greater cause of sustainability.
