  • The students of ICFAI School Of Social Sciences had planned a small event on Anti-Ragging Day on 12th August, 2024 in BB-02.
  • This initiative aimed to raise awareness among students about the serious implications of ragging and to foster a safe and respectful campus environment.
  • It reflected the institution's dedication to ensuring a ragging-free environment where every student feels secure and supported.

Event Highlight

1. Speech by a Student: The event began with an informative speech by a student of SEM III who shared her views on the importance of eliminating ragging from the campus. The student spoke about the emotional and psychological impacts of ragging on individuals and emphasised the role of every student in preventing such incidents. The speech resonated with the audience, reminding them of their shared responsibility in creating a supportive and inclusive community.

2. Short Documentary on Anti-Ragging: Following the speech, screening of a short documentary that portrayed the story of senior students ragging freshmen. The documentary vividly depicted the ordeal faced by the victim and highlighted the severe consequences that followed for both the perpetrators and the bystanders who witnessed the ragging but chose not to intervene or report the incident. This visual narrative served as a stark reminder of the legal and moral repercussions of ragging, leaving a profound impact on the audience.

3. Oath-Taking Ceremony: The event concluded with an oath-taking ceremony. All students present took a solemn pledge to neither participate in nor tolerate any form of ragging within the campus. The oath symbolized the collective commitment of the student body to uphold the values of respect, dignity, and kindness towards one another. The ceremony was a significant moment, marking the students' dedication to maintaining a ragging-free environment at the university

  • The Young Economists Society (Y.E.S. Club) aims to bring together students of economics and those interested in economics under one umbrella in the ICFAI School of Social Sciences.
  • Activities undertaken by the society range from academic to leisurely competitive, including essay/article writing competitions, debates, group discussions, jovial quizzes & games, and artistically creative events, competitions and research activities.
  • The society seeks economics students to network and form meaningful relationships with fellow students, professors and experts. It will also direct them to explore various nuances in the field and develop an eclectic skill set.
  • Some of the events conducted by the Y.E.S. Club include Inflection, Meme-o-nomics, Yaadein, Despedida_2023, and Guess 20 to mark India’s G20 presidency, along with the various documentary days.

  • National Unity Day, also known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, is celebrated in India on October 31st every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who played a crucial role in the unification of India.
  • In this context, students of the Department of Economics celebrated National Unity Day.
  • The event included singing, elocution, slogan writing and ended with the students taking the National Unity Day pledge.

  • To welcome the first-year students of the Department of Economics, the students of BA Economics semesters V and III planned a fresher’s event.
  • The event served as an opportunity for the students to interact with each other and introduce themselves to their classmates and faculty members.
  • Amidst the vibrant energy and enthusiasm, this Fresher’s event named NARAARAMBH, unfolded as a dynamic celebration of new beginnings, forging connections, and creating unforgettable memories for our incoming students.
