The IcfaiTech offers Full time/ Part time Doctoral Program in the disciplines of Engineering/Technology, Sciences and English. Applications are invited from bright and aspiring students committed to excellence to apply for admission to Ph.D. Program for the academic year 2025-2026 (January 2026).

Financial Assistantship

Full time Ph.D. students admitted into the Ph.D. programme are eligible to be considered for an institute fellowship up to Rs. 40,000 /- per month. Candidates who do not possess any GATE, CSIR and INSPIRE, will be eligible for institute fellowship.

The Ph.D. admissions are made through the University entrance test followed by an interview. The candidates admitted into Ph.D. programme are required to complete course work prescribed by the research committee of IcfaiTech. On successful completion of the course work, the PhD students will take up teaching assistantship, clear the Ph.D. qualifying examination and successfully defend the PhD thesis proposal. The candidates will be offered stipend from the date on which he/she qualifies in Teaching Assistantship Test conducted by IcfaiTech.

Eligibility Criteria

Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in majoring subject) or CGPA 6 on a 10-point scale in Master’s degree from any university recognized by UGC are eligible. The broad areas of research and eligibility criteria in each department for both engineering and Science disciplines are as follows:

Details of Written Tests

Candidates shortlisted will have to appear written examination RAPT-2025, which will be conducted for 100 min. The RAPT has two parts. Part A Research Methodology will be common to all disciplines and Part B will be discipline specific. The written Test and interviews will be conducted at IcfaiTech, IFHE Campus, Hyderabad. Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure: Candidates qualified in the written test will be called for interview and final selection is based on interview performance.

Selection Process

The Selection Process comprises of an Aptitude Test in Research Methods, Micro- presentation and an Interview. The aptitude test in Research Methods is to assess the candidates fundamental understanding in statistics. The judging panel for the micro-presentation will assess the candidate’s communication and presentation skills. The candidates are expected to prepare a power point presentation on a topic of their interest from their area of specialization and the duration should be limited to 15 minutes. The interview panel will attempt to understand the candidate’s profile and the commitment to opt for an academic career. The purpose is also to assess the intellectual abilities and the research aptitude and will focus on in-depth knowledge of the domain area that the candidate wishes to specialize in.

Fee for Full-time Ph.D Program

The selected candidates have to pay an Admission fee of ₹ 40,000, on or before the date specified in the Enrolment Letter. The Program fee of ₹ 60,000 per Semester is provided as financial assistance by ICFAI Tech and is waived off, subject to meeting minimum academic requirements as specified by ICFAI Tech.

  • In the first year, all students admitted into the full-time Ph.D program will receive a fellowship of ₹40,000 per month and free on-campus accommodation.
  • Upon successful completion of the Ph.D qualifying examination, the fellowship will be increased to ₹45,000 per month until the student defends the thesis proposal.
  • After successful defence of the thesis proposal, the fellowship will be ₹50,000 per month up to the completion of four years from the date of commencement of the program, or until completion of the Ph.D, whichever is earlier.
  • The fellowship is offered for a maximum period of 48 months.
  • In lieu of this fellowship, students may be required to provide up to 10 hours per week of support in teaching, research, or administrative activities.

  • A Professional Development Grant of ₹30,000 per annum is provided for attending conferences, workshops, and seminars for four years.
  • A one-time Laptop Allowance of ₹50,000 is provided to each student.

Upon successful completion of Ph.D., students may pursue careers in organizations of their choice. They may also apply for faculty positions at IFHE or its sponsor, constituent, affiliate, or associate institutions, where their applications will be considered based on educational qualifications, performance during the Ph.D program, and availability of suitable vacancies.

In the event of withdrawal from the program, students are required to refund the fellowship and financial assistance received. Accordingly, each student must execute a Financial Assistance Agreement (with a guarantor) on the day of registration.

Fee for Part-time Ph.D Program

The selected candidates have to pay an Admission Fee of ₹ 40,000 on or before the date specified in the Enrolment Letter.

The Program fee of ₹ 60,000 per semester is to be paid for 8 semesters.

The first instalment of Program fee is to be paid on or before the date specified in the Enrolment Letter. The detailed fee schedule will be provided along with the Selection Letter. Please note that there is neither fee waiver nor fellowship/stipend for Part- time Ph.D Program candidates.
